Recertification Procedure

RECERTIFICATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR IBCT CERTIFIED TRAINERS

One of the major goals of IBCT is to promote and encourage continued learning and professional development. Certified Trainers can meet this standard by identifying their strengths and weaknesses related to the field of management, developing professional development goals, and then formulating an action plan to meet the goals.

Certified Trainers (CT’s) are asked to submit their professional development goals for the coming year.  CT’s should plan for a minimum of ten (10) hours of professional development activities each year.  A reporting form will be provided for each year.

Below is a sample format for submitting completed hours.
Development Goals Development Completed Date Hours Location

Further information

  • Under the system, emphasis is placed on setting goals and planning to achieve them, rather than the reporting of professional development activities.
  • For the most part, certified persons will be required to provide documentation (copies) of their professional development activities.
  • You have to submit the completed form by post exactly one year after the certification date to your regional IBCT office.
  • The re-certification date is three (3) years after the certification date.  After three years you will be notified of an appointment for an oral consult (1 hour) based on the three Professional Development Activity Reports you have sent to your regional headquarters during the three year period.  When you pass the assessment, you will receive a new certificate, valid for the next three years.

    Form for IBCT recertification Assessment.
  • The cost of the recertification assesment and career consult is € 188,70 ($256.60) VAT excluded.  This is to be paid (in cash) on the examination site direct to the career counsellor.
  • When you fail in either timely submitting the reports or the recertification assesment, your name will be removed from the official CT Register, until you have satisfied requirements.
  • When you fail the exam, a study assignment and a new re-examination date can be given.  This can be arranged with the regional IBCT director. The cost of the re-examination is € 188,70 ($256.60).
  • Retired CT’s do not have to meet re-certification requirements.  Please notify IBCT if your employment status has changed.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the regional IBCT office.
