Is IBCT an institute of trainers? Is it possible to take courses at IBCT?

In the directory of this website it is possible to check the quality of a trainer/advisor 24 hours a day, at no costs.

    Frequently asked questions by trainers/advisors

How does the judging of the certification exam and documents take place?

Answer: After receiving the payment and documents, the Credentialing & Certification Commitee starts the procedure of certification.

The Credentialing & Certification Commitee investigates through an inquiry of antecedents and verification the areas of expert with the use of certificates, relevant working experience and satisfaction of taskmasters. Candidates must include in their résumé information of that kind that it is possible to investigate telephonically to employers, educational institutes, taskmaster etc.

The Credentialing & Certification Commitee judges the answers to the written examination at substance. Answers have to meet the following points:

    1. Has the answer been put in own words? An answer by means of a theoretical treatise is not sufficient.
    2. Are these answers based upon experienced situations in the past?
    3. Does appear sufficient knowledge and insight from the answering?

In case unjust information (about certificates) has been provided by a candidate and/or the Credentialing & Certification Commitee believes that the exam has been made with the help of thirds, the application will be denied perminently. In these situations no repayments of the certification fee will be made, because it involved fraud.

How much relevant working experience do I require as a trainer/training-advisor to be considered for certification?

    Answer:

    1. A university certificate and 2 years of experience as trainer or teacher of trainers, or a HBO certificate and 3 years of experience as trainer or teacher of trainers.

    2. 3 years of experience as teacher in vocational education.

And you must be in posession of a, by one of the by IBCT accredited training institutes for trainers and HRD professionals, noted trainers certificate.

Trainers/advisors who have completed a course at Bachelor/Master level in HRD and believe that their training certificate is equal to those accredited by IBCT can send these in to be judged, with enclosed information about the content of the study and the study load, etc. If you do not meet requirements of experience you can only join as an Associated Member of IBCT. Than you have a maximum period of five years to gain relevant working experience and declarations of satisfaction from taskmasters. How does recertification work?

Answer: After certification, make a development planning, Professional Development Activity Report (PDAR), for yourself as trainer/advisor for the coming year. Send this to info@ibct-global.com. At the end of the year send a signed PDAR-report by mail to IBCT. With the report, include copies of certificates and other verifiable documents. At the same time send the planning for the coming year. After verification of the documents and certificats, the annual PE-update ( Permanent Education Update) in the Directory will be given green light. If the documents are not received (in time) the annual PE-update will be given a red signal, as signal that you haven’t verifiably met your permanent educational requirements yet.

In the third year make an appointment via info@ibct-global.coml with one of IBCT’s career counselors. With use of the PDAR-report you will have a conversation with the career counselor. When given a postive advice by the career counselor and a new PDAR planning, recertification will take place. You will receive a new IBCT certificate by mail from the IBCT secretary.

Will I receive a reminder for PE updates en recertification?

Answer: Yes. Two months before the ‘PE update’ and recertification date a reminder will be automatically send to the e-mail address mentioned in the Directory.

Answer: No. We do expect though, that you change your status of Associated Member into Certified Trainer within a period of five years by proving sufficient working experience and veriafiably having satisfied customers. The maximum period as an Associated Member is five years.

I am not yet a trainer/trainingadvisor, but I wish to take a recognized course in training. Where do I go?

Answer: At the regional offices of the board our staff will be happy to help you find a professional education as a trainer or HRD professional.
